Sandra Auckland Steps Down as Chief Barker After 11 Years of Service
December 10th, 2025
Sandra Auckland will be stepping down as Chief Barker at the end of this year, marking the end of an extraordinary 11-year tenure.
Sandra, the first woman ever to hold the prestigious role, has been a driving force within the charity, leading countless initiatives that have directly supported disabled and disadvantaged children across the Island. Her dedication and commitment have made a lasting impact on Variety and the families we serve.
Reflecting on her decision, she shared:
“It is with mixed feelings that I inform you that I have stepped down from being the Chief Barker from the end of this year. This is a role that I have been so honoured to hold for 11 years. Variety is in my heart and always will be. I will continue to give my best to this wonderful Charity that does so much for the children in Jersey. Robyn Lapidus will be the next Chief Barker and I wish him a successful year.”
We are pleased to announce that Robyn Lapidus will become the next Chief Barker, taking up the position in the new year. Variety is forever grateful to Sandra for her exceptional service and leadership, and we look forward to her continued involvement in future initiatives.
Her long-standing contribution has left an enduring legacy, and Variety warmly welcomes Lapidus as he prepares to carry the baton forward.
